Huron High School · Ann Arbor, Michigan

Every player deserves the gear to play.

We're Jonathan and Senith, two high schoolers in Ann Arbor who started Kick It Forward because we don't think money should decide whether a kid gets to play soccer. We collect gently used cleats, jerseys, balls, and training gear and get it straight to youth soccer programs that need it, across Washtenaw County and the Detroit area.

About the Program

Our mission: every young player in our region should have the equipment they need to play and develop, no matter their family's financial situation.

Kick It Forward started with a simple problem we kept running into: good soccer gear was sitting unused in garages and lost-and-founds while other kids couldn't afford to play. So we started collecting it. We take cleats, jerseys, shin guards, balls, goalkeeper gloves, portable goals, training cones, rebounders, and scoreboards from clubs, schools, and individual donors, then get it to underserved youth soccer programs and community leagues around Ann Arbor and Detroit.

We run two big collection drives a year, one in the fall and one in the spring, and we're always looking to add new donor clubs and partner programs so more kids get equipped each season.
